A: Our custom wooden shipping crates are designed to protect the valuable contents they hold. They are built to withstand the stresses placed on them by lift trucks before, during, and after the various events to which they are shipped..

Q: How long should wooden shipping crates last?

A: Depending on the number of times it is handled and what is contained in it, with proper maintenance, a crate can be expected to last for many years. If there is an upside to a crate being damaged, it is that the contents were protected, and it should be more cost-effective to fix or replace the crate than it would be to replace the trade show booth components in the crate.

Q: How much do crates cost?

A: Depending on the crate size and design, a good crate can cost anywhere from US$250 to US$1,500. With custom jigging and padding, another 25 – 50% may be added to the cost.

The following are sample prices for generic, continuous-use wooden shipping crates (inside dimensions):

• 4' long x 4' wide x 4' high - priced from $625
• 4' long x 8' wide x 4' high - priced from $775

The specifications for the samples listed above are for continuous-use crates, using 2 x 4 lumber, 3/8" plywood, pallet jack height, one hinged side with hasp and wire, and both glued and screwed joints using nail screws. These crates may be built with heat-treated lumber for international use. We can provide the required certification at no additional charge. Options on these crates include jigging, carpet, and gussets.
